I'm glad you enjoyed the notes too! I try to do translations that can stand on their own, but sometimes there are interesting extras I really want to share ^^ or I want to clarify things that people may not be familiar with, especially the youkai.

As a side note, when the guy mentions "eating Momo's food" and she says to live a long life, I wonder if she cut some flesh off her own tail. Given the other character's response to it, and the legend where eating mermaid flesh will grant you immortality.

The actual JP word used was 'meat' soooo I think you're on to something here! I forgot about that legend, but that makes sense!
