Wholesome. Also man, I hope there's a arc where they go over American BBQ. It's so varied and full of depth.

That would be nice. We've seen him touch on American Soul Food before, and in another chapter, he demonstrates he knows American food isn't just burgers and fried chicken.

I'd be surprised if he could go into intricate detail of the different BBQ varieties though.

Man, I had thought that this is unfair comparison because the way Yamaoka did it results in a completely different type of food. I had been curious what the guy would've said if they kept the KFC style crust but fried it without the pressure cooker (or preparing it in some other way that will not make it "soggy")

I was really curious to see whether these two get together or not so I went and looked it up. I can't wait to see what Shiro is like as a father– it's hard to imagine. And even more, I can't imagine Kaibara as a grandfather LOL
I get where she's coming from, it'd be upsetting if you moved to a foreign country to get married and everything and your spouse just wouldn't let you have a part of your culture that's important to you.

I agree, thematically I was expecting it to go in a direction like karaage or nanban to meld their cultures.

I'm really shocked this wasn't about introducing the wife to karaage, or maybe making karaage-style seasoned fried chicken...

God I miss having access to good fried chicken.
