thank you for translating the newspaper and adding context to the remarks made! it's always really interesting to see how Oishinbo interacted with contemporary political incidents/sentiments during its run-- the authors' stances weren't as dynamic as current viewpoints might expect, but having the Tozai News crew comment on the matter at all gives the manga a really 'real' feeling that's unique to this manga, and the time/space it was created in!
