It's more of a comment on the whole story arc (not about this chapter), but I'm surprised that the number of people that Yamaoka met in this story arc were actually real people, like Qureshi, Morieda, the Karashimas (and apparently Arora, too).

Meaning the author actually really went that far in researching their names and occupations at that time (and possibly even interviewing them, too), and these people weren't fictional characters the author just made up for the story.

It's something I've always respected of Kariya. His manga's content is often based on what he's learned or researched in real life, in a time when information was not readily at our fingertips.
The trade-off is that his information is sometimes inaccurate if his sources aren't reliable, but there's always a sense of realness to what he conveys.

I actually suspect some of the more minor characters, like the Sri Lanka guide Shiraki, are also real people. It's just that they're more personal acquaintances and don't have Wikipedia-worthy histories.
