I was going to say, reading about lamarckism, I went, 'huh, like how epigenetic traits get passed on'. Going to be fucking wild if in my life time lamarckism starts getting brought up in biology textbooks as if it always had the standing of darwinism. Doubt it, but it'd be wild if it did.

Epigenetics might be superficially similar to Lamarckism, but it has been spawned from a completely different understanding of the world (which is to say, an understanding of the world at all). There is no real lineage, anymore than radiation is related to phlogiston.
