That's just the Japanese way of shortening names to give characters a bit of anonymity, for example a person named Asako can be referred to as A-ko in written text

The names should've been written like the list below so that those who're not used to the Japanese culture of anonymous names wouldn't be confused or at least see that they're not proper names.

Mta → M-ta
Akawa → A-kawa
Wtani → W-tani

Just like what the user above me had written, they can be possibly referred to as Makita, Aikawa, Wakatani or any closer to those.

It took me six reads to understand it, so I'm just gonna spell it out here for anyone as dumb as me:
Wtani isn't spiritually perceptive in the slightest.
Mta (young-looking guy) is still alive. So is Akawa. "Main" guy (dyed-looking hair) is dead and doesn't realize it.
In panel 3, Wtani isn't reacting to main guy, he's reacting to Akawa coming in, where he notices Mta.
