Here's the page for the "beer garden" talk where they speak english. Foreman also spoke japenglish when he was at the luxury hotel, giving the garlic bread to the little tourist girl.

The weather has been a hot topic in recent years because climate change has been especially noticeable in Japan. Old people are a bit stubborn when it comes to changing their habits (ie. turning on the aircon at night) because they think that they've lived for 60, 70, 80, etc. years sleeping with the windows open just fine so they can't imagine doing anything else. It's getting hotter though, and they are getting older and older, and you'll hear a lot of news every summer about old people dying in their sleep.

A few years ago, I experienced heat exhaustion while I was asleep. I woke up suddenly and the room was spinning and my throat was really dry. My bed was soaked in sweat and I felt a general, whole body 'fluster'. Stumbled to my fridge and drank a whole lot of water, took a cold shower for a few mins, went to back to bed and felt fine in the morning. Old people...don't have the luxury of doing this. Most of them have mobility issues and are a bit slower to realize how their body is feeling.

pg.8 cameo from the mangaka :)
pg.10 you have the party menu UI. Kimura's 53 and Foreman's 43...

I like how Kimura has become their go-to plan when all else fails lmao the man's house is basically a savepoint for them

Now upon reading your comment about old people dying though, it could very well be that the trio has saved his life... That's really sad all things considered

It's happening a lot in Asia where the seasons feel longer and there's more humidity. Actually, I remember hearing the news about a heatwave in England a few years back and it was big because they don't have airconditioning units installed there.

An interesting contrast to the Ichijou chapter about summer, lol. Instead of discourse about the value of summer, a struggle to achieve the opportunities of summer through the challenges. I think it's a good microcosm of the two series: Ichijou battles his pretenses and preconceptions to be able to enjoy something he's been offered; Ootsuki eagerly wants to enjoy things, but has to overcome challenges to get access to it.

Fun chapter! I haven't had shaved ice in a long time. I'm surprised at how Covid disappeared without any more discussion lol.

Very well put. Ootsuki is about finding greatness in small things and small opportunities, while Ichijou has some chances and enjoys some of his life but also wastes a lot of energy, for he's young and foolish.

Great chapter, the RPG references were funny
