Tokyo to Yokohama: 20mins Shinkansen ride or 30mins via train.
Foreman then goes from Yokohama to Hakone which takes around 2 hours with transfers. Yokohama is known for its Chinatown and has a sizeable Chinese enclave there. They also have a huge Gundam which is getting decomissioned in a few months.
Hakone is a relatively short trip away, known for its hot springs and nature trials, shrines/temples and museums.
Before the Marvel-boom, American TV series were really popular in Japan. A lot of series get an adaption like 24, Suits, The Good Doctor, etc. but they usually only get one season.

Only Ootsuki would hear about that kinda thing and just relocate elsewhere to enjoy his outing still. You BET he wouldn't have even bothered with the report if he hadn't hoped to still have some sukiyaki by the end of his trip
