This is pretty fantastic. Portraying the darker, more human and more melancholic aspects of the usually simple and bubbly world of Onimai really makes the world feel more deep and genuine.

The mini-infodump on chromosomes also surprised me as well. I typically never expect Japanese authors to have much (or any) education in these topics, so it was quite a pleasant surprise.

GRAHHHH!!!! I'M SLEEPING FREE OF DEPRESSION TONIGHT!!!

That aside, this being translated is a dream come true. God knows google translate was not it. As much as I love the series, I do often get hung up with how the conflict is essentially swept under the rug since the earlier chapters. The Oyama sisters (siblings to be more accurate) really do need to communicate like this sometime for crying out loud!!

Wow Chitose-san, you really put a lot of thought and consideration into this! Minus the ethical side ofc.

Chitose: "The what now? What's an 'ethic'? Can you eat it?"

There is something about onimai that tends to inspire content far superior to the source material.
