This is just japanese solo leveling, and that's not just because of the similar premise. There are tons of manga and manwha like this. I feel it's similar in style and setting as well. Very non japanese. Quite a departure from how these manga are usually done tbh.

there are an eff ton of these premise before Solo Leveling when you skim through Syosetsuka but yeah SL and this are the ones that made it big.

Ofcourse, what I mean is the style. Solo leveling (the manwha atleast havent read the novel) seems to really lean into the 'cool' mc aspect more so than the wish fulfillment part. I feel like this manga is kinda doing the same thing.
