Option to completely hide the sidebar!

I like to read manga using my surface book in tablet mode ( fullscreen portrait) and prefer having the sidebar be completely hidden so as to not lose any screen real estate. But there's an even bigger problem than losing screen real estate, and that's the the fact that the sidebar currently goes on top of the manga page, basically cutting off part of it. It's not an issue you usually see in landscape but in portrait it becomes very apparent. Here's a picture of what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/Oy5fPjar.jpg

Another minor reason why I preferred the old reader was that it would stick the page to the top of the screen instead of putting it in the center, so I would really love an option for this as well.

The sidebar will only cut off the page when you have it set to fit to height or no resize mode. If you set it to fit to width/fit to container, it'll never overlap.
There's probably going to be a setting added that makes it so that people can choose the layout to be like the old one.

I made a Firefox extension that lets you completely hide the side bar (among other things). I made a post about it here: https://mangadex.org/thread/15505

One downside is that, if you ever want to access the sidebar, you'll have to disable the setting (which requires a page refresh) before you can access it again. If you're interested, I could probably find a way to make it so that the keyboard shortcut to open the side panel (t) will temporarily deactivate the setting, but if you're using tablet mode, that probably doesn't apply to you anyway.
