Huh. The ratings are pretty average, but I'm really liking this. The high stakes and the letter from the future thing make it stand out from the typical shoujo, plus I like the characters quite a bit, they're good folks.
Edit to add: I figured out that the rest existed in other places and went and read it. It's really good.
Fun shoujo, if you can ignore uneasiness permeating the whole thing, coming from realizations sparked by stuff revealed in latter parts of the story.
"Mirai"'s not great, but it really does flesh out
alt-Suwa's
reasoning, only hinted at in first five volumes. It also does allow a glimpse into the other timeline's past, and
events that led to eventual branching
, so it's probably worth reading (or watching i guess, since there's also a movie).
You can own whole thing new for about thirty five bucks in the US, so i don't know, go and buy it? It's not super cheap, but significantly cheaper than volumes bought individually.
i was in love with this series since it was released but the ending was disappointing, it felt rushed and it was better to leave the way they got to send the letters a mistery, the explanation created was totally off....
also, i was hoping for a better development with the romance, Naho should have ended up with Suwa, they could save Kakeru without getting him and Naho together for real.. it would've been better if it turned out that Naho would eventually fall in love with Suwa anyway..
Short, sweet, to the point and effective. Enjoyed it from start to finish. The ending is fine, nothing wrong with it. Only criticism I have is the explanation on how they got the letters. Should have remained a mystery instead, or have it be spiritual. The explanation we got is... Not good.
Short, sweet, and occasionally annoying with how much the MC is unable to just say what she wants to say. I understand being anxious but even when I was her age during the lowest of my self-esteem, I would've been able to be direct if I knew what was on the line.
The extra chapters after the true ending were unnecessary so I skipped them. Maybe if you wanted to cry more, sure, but I don't think I need to know how the gang fared if they didn't prevent 'the event' from happening.
I'm also gonna push back on the sentiment that Suwa 'deserved' better I'm seeing around other sites. The future Suwa has informed the teenage Suwa that even though he does get his love with the MC at the end, it will balance out with the regret he holds for not being able to help Takeru. It is a sign of maturity for Suwa to know when to fold and go on with his life instead of pursuing fleeting romantic feelings, just like how it is for all of us to be able to tell when to walk away from relationships in our real lives for one reason or another. It's just a more extreme example here given the circumstances.
