Dumb, forced plot device. If she was special to you and you KNEW she was in the room, you should have either say no one but her the knight AND the maid or said "no dragons". When the main antagonist (so far) is dumb as hell and not in a comedic way it just kills your story.

The demon lord gave him a choice, but choosing something clearly not on the table was pretty stupid.
Well, this MC did get in debt with someone that made him work to death and still calls the dud e a friend.
And the most stupid part in this half chapter was when he was surprised at ther being uanble to cook, "ven if you a re adragon"...what the fuck does that mean, I never heard of dragons know for their culinary skills, would have made sense if he said it was because she was a servant, a maid or even a woman.
