As weird as this manga has been over time, I find meself coming back to it simply cuz it's a bit refreshing to see an mc who's weird not because of stupidity but because of actual brain damage. And das not an insult. Is a twist I feel more manga should have.

The Toutomi Hideyoshi joke is that he made a cheap pun out of 尊死 toutoshi (lit. "death from preciousness", fig. "so precious I could die") by spelling it out as a whole longer sentence because of how strongly he felt, so he decided on twisting Toyotomi Hideyoshi's name for the joke to make it sound longer.
