They've been getting even more stringent over there with the public decency laws. That other stuff was done before those laws took effect.

That, and stuff that actually is rated R18 over there gets a bit of leeway because, you know, it's not being sold to kids.

Publishers should fight back by having EVERYTHING rated as R18 so they can use the less stringent censorship laws. Kids will still get their hands on it regardless of ratings (sure never stopped me when I was a kid).

Only difference is kids will have a visible R18 stash for the stuff that's just using it as a loophole to avoid unnecessary censorship, and the normal hidden R18 stash for the stuff that actually needs the adult rating.
