"that secret"
It's absolutely criminal how the author kept gassing up Asoi's "secret" (considering how complex the plot in general is, there was only one way that secret was gonna go) for so long. Only to, consistent with the series' vibe, disappoint everyone when the revelation of the "secret" was nothing other than piss-poor plot device and Asoi as a character got thrown to the wayside promptly after. At least they were spared the disaster that is the final LN volumes
