I have to continuously remind myself that the MC is severely developmentally disabled, and likely very far to the left of the autistic spectrum.
I mean, to be able to not see reality to the point that that he lives in a hallucination, but he can still eat, walk, and talk to people?
It is either a curse (like a magical curse), or he has a wildly massive brain tumor.
But sane, capable, intelligent... none of that; he is unable to learn.
He cannot seem to learn things on a very basic level; like there is a tumor or other disconnect in his amygdala or prefrontal cortex.
In fact, it really seems like a tumor situated across the connections between the front and the middle of his brain.
It's not really funny; I have never enjoyed "Laughing at Retards," and that's the entire premise of this story, it seems.
But I'm sure pointing it out is upsetting.
