You know, I am not dumb or self centered enough to think people should get manga for free. But this manga has been translated in english since it was first published in 2008. I cannot be the only one that has been reading it on and off since then, whenever someone decides to pick it up. It's a little silly to be giving Viz consideration here when they are picking it up after 23 volumes. I can only imagine that the official translations would take years to even get back to this point. If people want to stop scanning because they are bored with it, or don't have enough time, that's perfectly fine. I just hope that they wouldn't stop because someone feels morally obligated to, since there is next to no chance they would be stopped by legal action.

Eh? What happened to the old official English publisher? Is that why it took them years to publish a volume? Or are they finally realizing that they need to prioritize this manga?

Yeah, you said exactly what I was thinking. I've seen it happen to alot of good series where the scanlators will drop it at the first announcement of being licensed. They sometimes have dozens or even hundreds of chapters, so a translation will never catch up or take several years at the least. It is really sad when series are dropped right before the end of an arc or the finale of the series. It would be nice to have a little closure for the characters.

I love how Viz swooped in to grab some easy $$$ by starting their translation at volume 1 and then jumpimg right the fsck to volume 23. You would have to have been reading the scanlations to know what was going on in the manga, and also to have any desire to pay to see the end of the manga. I've seen manga get sniped by other scanlation groups, but here it's a corporation doing the sniping.

Finally a chapter after 4 fucking months, and it ended with a drop notice. God fucking damnit, it'd take years for us to get new content now. And it's right at the final ending point too.

After so many years of translating and people waiting for translations I can’t believe this is all we’re going to get. I understand Viz’s reasonings and no manga is free... but for countries where translations isn’t possible, up-to-date or simply doesn’t exist, this is just a kick in the teeth.

You know, to hell with Viz; they have historically been bad actors. Let them continue on with their for $$$ last minute translation, and read the chapters on a Chinese pirate site like MangaPark. 😡
