If childhood friend girl was going to know about Lily's speech pattern anyway then why not have this plot point happen earlier when Lily, her brother, and Akutsu were discussing behind the school? That way, the plot point where this girl partially heard their conversation isn't wasted to amount to nothing. If this manga ever gets adapted into anime then I hope they will fix some of the writing flaws.

I thought that was revealed to be a fake out and she didn't actually hear anything they said while she was spying that time
