The creator, Risa Ito is not retired. She is currently still working on manga, it's just that the last time she debuted a new work that wasn't a sequel to anything was back in 2015 with "Lazy Diet".
These days, she's hard at work with two ongoing series, "Hey! Hey! Pitan!" and "Mother's Door".
