Actually, I get on my nerves with stories that start with a partymate abandoning them through betrayal or simply forcing them out of the group. I always hope that later on in the story the main character has a way of rubbing their behaviour in their face in some way (although sometimes I hope for a much more sadistic revenge...) and that they bitterly regret it.

So, instead of saying "We've been over this, I'm taking the path with the least monsters" he gets yelled at. Then when he DOES take the shortest route, and they get attacked, it's still his fault? Even Emi seems to ignore the way he's done things in the past... They're setting her up to be a love interest, but unless something happens, I'm not going to like it. She even goes so far as to not react when the "Hero" fucking STABS HIM IN THE GUT to abandon him. If there had even been 1 panel of her looking shocked, and being dragged away it'd be fine, but now it just looks like she doesn't actually give a shit. Really hope when they meet again he dumps her

Yes Lock, you can bear a grudge and you should. This Japanese submissiveness and passivity pisses me off.
For real. I understand it may be a difference in culture but christ these protagonists need to grow a spine. Having that mentality in a MC is always frustrating.

I've gotten so tired of it that i barely read manga anymore, mostly just manhwa now. Though that's not to say they don't have issues, they definitely do but in the opposite direction. Korean protagonists can be very overconfident, usually without anything to back it up. Annoying for sure but I can mostly stomach it and move past it at least

At first I felt it was refreshing with a team that didn't hate mc or look down on him overly much. The gladiator even said that it's fine if Emi keeps dating and monetarily support mc even after they fire him. And a bunch of other stuff too that generally summed up to "he's a liability and will be the first to die if we bring him into the field. So let's not, and fire him from his suicidal job as a supporter-kun."

Then suddenly they are all talking about him as if he is some kind of jerk that intentionally keeps sabotaging them, and whose fault it is when his warnings comes true. The pseudo-gf even slaps him. And while the hero stabs him without issue since it's a stranger, gladiator is smirking for some reason, pseudo-gf doesn't even complain besides some minor self-hatred, and the girl he was literally carrying to save and whom was abandoned alongside him only grieves her dress (which she could easily has fetched while they berated him after stab if her paralysis had eased during the escape and not just then and there) and not mc or the fact she was abandoned too. Wth? What a whiplash

Dude Emi better not try to come back to him later when this S Rank party inevitably implodes without him, with some sob story about feeling bad about leaving him.

The bitch literally just left him to die with no hesitation whatsoever, there is no forgiving that.

Yeah, it feels very much like the characters are whipped along for the sake of the plot. And that plot isn't even particularly good, original, or well executed. It's not even that they're portrayed as the usual douchebag party members who abandons the MC (except the "hero"), but that the plot demands that they act that way.

He also still seem to hold his own in battles and provide a great deal of support, so he's not even a burden on the party from any point of view.

I almost see what they were going for with the asshole hero suddenly enabling the already disgruntled party members, but holy shit they really just went from his friends to actively murdering him while barely even registering it.
I pray the plot has the hero be some sort of mind-control freak or something later down the line because otherwise i struggle to see how anyone saw this and published it

damn no matter the reason, the mage girl is a big bi*** out of all for acting like that and act as if she disappoints in MC.
the worse, she should suffer... but I guess show her guilt face in this kind of story mean she will not end that badly.

I can endure reading the stupid premise of him still continuing after they abused him. Okay. I get it. But that retarded "I can't bare to hate them" shit AFTER they tried to KILL him... is just WOW. That is a real masochist. I don't know if I could continue to read this. I rather have that stupid REVENGE story than this.

So after reading all the chapters currently available in one go I came back to this chapter in confusion. On page 11 something is said to Emi the mage about there being no problem if she dates him... Was that translated properly?

Why the fuck did he go with them knowing they will simply kick him out after this dungeon?

He should've just left after overhearing them. But nah, he just had to be the good friend to the end schmuck. Even got stabbed for his troubles.

And he can't bear a grudge against them? It's crap like this that makes me wish the MC just died. End of chapter. End of story. lol
