The beginning reminded me of another manga... I think it was a shoujou about an overweight otaku girl who grieved so hard from her favorite anime character dying that she ends up losing weight and becoming a beauty.

That aside, I thought this one was okay, but missing something even as a one shot.

Slam Dunk!, Kuroko no Basuke, and Ahiru no Sora... I'm always looking for more basketball manga on that level.

I really hope this gets serialized. Like, I'm not that interested in sports manga, the only one I've read to completion is Nononono, and even that was really just for the crossdressing plot. But this is actually amazing. The characters and the writing and the art and everything are just so well done. I swear, if this gets shafted in favor of more battle slop...
