I hate the self loathing arc all these plain romcom protags must go through

I sorta get why it has to happen though, even if its tropey af. The premise of these sorts of OtakuxGal stories are usually pretty unrealistic and the initial chemistry has to kind of be forced. I think these sorts of arcs are a way of acknowledging that and then using it to make the MC far more confident and less of a door mat afterwards.

Sort of like the "loser x hot girl" version of a training arc in fighting shows and manga. Just something that has to happen to recognize the characters faults and improve.

I almost don't care about the love aspect, I just like the friendship between the two girls. One of the more genuine female friendships I've seen in fiction.

It's a losers wet dream what do you expect
Dude, you have brain damage. Actual brain damage.

"Reality says"
Yeah, reality says pretty women aren't otaku either. I don't see you dogging on how unrealistic that is. Reality says a girl in Kotoko's position isn't gonna be very feminine—in fact she'd have incredible tomboy energy. Don't see you bitching about that. Bitching about the girls and the MC makes sense, but you're only doing it one way.

Why? Because it doesn't matter. You've already tactily accepted the premise, and now are just lashing out in jealous frustration that you didn't get this kind of treatment despite your boring ass personality.

It's escapism. Rather than accept you're reading escapism you've decided to take it seriously and lash out from misplaced envy. If you didn't care about it: Why are you here? Spite, envy, and pettiness.

It's escapism.
1) Pretty women can indeed be otaku but not in obsessive way most likely simply due to the fact that they are popular (while male counterparts aren't as much even if they handsome). And in general men are more laser focused i.e. obsessiveness can be over the top which means and activity can get ugly.

2) I don't want to say anything about magical unicorns (i.e. FMC) simply due to the fact that i didn't see much of them in comic conventions. (Most were not otakus but normal girls with INTEREST in some anime/manga/comics).

3) Jealous from insane escapism that promotes further degeneration of society or at least proves it?

My point is even escapism must have some sort of scale where it is going to far. In recent years (10+ years) trend of creating an ultimate escapism to people with 0 character and "good" guy vibes is over the top. Too much content that promotes it.
If you want a beauty you also have to have something, because there loads of men aiming for the beauty.

These 0 character "good" guys should face the reality of things. They are mostly "good" (in their minds) because they can't display strength or power, sadly weak people don't have the privilege to show how good they are (rare cases of true self sacrifice only).
What i've seen though is some "good" guys becoming arrogant pricks when they acquire good jobs, riches or something to hold over other people. They were "good" as a show of not being a threat to those who could fuck them up right until they had more power to fuck someone up.

Jealousy(envy) is mostly derived from delusions. You think you must have it or you earned it but someone else has gotten "it". While i do indeed display envy for I am a human but unlike an animal i have mental capacity to improve and/or change consciously.
Whenever i feel envy, i analyze it and most of the times it goes away because my envy was misplaced.
Lastly envy goes away with age for the most people, it mostly ascribed to not having what others have because you yourself have too much free time and are doing something you don't like. When you become older most of the time you find things you like and occupy yourself with them thus looking at someone else becomes less frequent.

P.S. I'm here because it's my hobby, i read and i sometimes write my opinion. I have also my personal beef with manga industry that is degenerating since i've been a fan for over 20+ years and i see a clear downward spiral in bulk of anime/manga. I know Japanese current problems to some extent and i'm amazed that they cater to problematic character types instead of trying to correct them. If before it was blessings came from the heaven but i'm still gonna try push some weight too, now it is blessings came from the heaven and i'm going to just float along the waves.

It’s bait more than anything. Even if no one replies to him, he thinks his comments will make societies improve with scared men becoming brave and selfish women becoming loyal.

and oh boy if you do respond to him, he’s got a whole ChatGPT essay on why he’s “literally me” and deserves a cult following. I wonder if “Otaku ni Yasashii Gyaru wa Inai!?” has any middle school syndrome subplots 🤔

What? Bait to what exactly? I just operate on my freedom of speech basis. Will my opinion change something? Likely not, what will actually my opinion will do is hold position.
Fat movement started with bunch of people not caring that fat people started to promote fat culture, the problem is that instead of feeling shame or trying to combat something that can actually be combated people decided to give up and just become fat. (Not thin myself, something between fat and normal, trying to maintain at least some decent weight)
Here though i try to at least show that loser mentality isn't OKAY, nor will it be considered okay. Loser mentality can be combated and changed. If you have loser mentality be ready that people will look at you with negative opinion.

As for essay, if you need a chatgpt to voice your opinion on a free subject, that's sad. I dislike cheap 1-3 sentence statements that have 0 substance or meaning.
If you have any reading comprehension or even tried to read my whole message (let's be honest you didn't) you would understand where i'm coming from.

P.S. The saddest part about our times is that people are so used to information overload that they somehow have the arrogance to reply or voice opinions on something that they didn't bother to research (read wholley). Because internet is full of trolls and bad comedians, i try not to bait or troll (we already have enough trash), i voice my genuine opinion most of the time (with some exaggerations for comedy relief). And genuinely expect the same reply to either expand my horizons or to just have a pleasant conversation (even if we disagree).

I'm actually surprised people like this. I got to chapter 7 and just cut it off entirely.

It's so painfully generic. The MC isn't interesting and shows nothing interesting over those long, long chapters. The girls are pretty one-note too, and the romance is so unbelievably forced.

Do they even grow as characters later on? Is there room for them to grow, even?

To me it feels like if this is anything it's just junk food. Some kinda time killer between waiting for better series to update... which isn't a bad thing, but man, this is kiddie pond depth in a genre with some real deep seas. Maybe I'm just that spoiled by sono bisque and now that we draw?

Who is that this girl in the cover
she'll appear in 60th-ish chapters
she's the Ushio Ryouki, class 1-D
She was on the third place in the beauty contest in the 27th chapter

Uhm... horrible take, but sure...
I was in the middle of typing some big text to explain why, but I realized I won't be able to change your mind anyway so deleted it.

Basically, everyone enjoys different mangas. You enjoy mangas with heavy fanservice (not really, but the 2 you listed is full of them) and enjoy characters who have some sort of goal they want to achieve instead of down-to-earth realistic characters who behave exactly like how actual students would behave.

So yeah, just because the title has the word Gal in it, it doesn't mean its the same type of manga you enjoy. If you don't like it, move on.

I'm up to hearing your thoughts, genuinely. I dunno if I really buy the "down-to-earth realistic" take, given that like six chapters in he's dating both of them on the same day and their idea is to split custody of him. But, the person translating it HAS read all of it, so you certainly know more about the manga than I do.

It just feels like through the first seven chapters it's more just by-the-books harem comedy without any sort of depth or believable relationship building, which is okay if you like it, but not what I prefer, and I came down kinda hard on it which I'm trying to stop doing but the 4chan influence still runs deep 12 years later, sorry. If it changes at all down the line or my initial 7-chapter takeaway is that incorrect, I'm more than happy to hear it and give it another shot. I don't exactly have ground to stand on calling anything bad, anyway, since I fully read NEET Kunoichi (it's my junkfood like trashy vampire novels so popular here... shame it isn't getting scanlated, but at least there's anime subs) and probably some other manga others would think low quality.

And, yeah, they're both hella fanservicey. I figured it's like a necessity to get teenagers to look at it, or give them a cover to say "ahaha yeah I just like the tiddies haha" when in reality they bought it because the chapter after he hurts her feelings and makes her cry and when struggling to write his heroine, changes her design and mannerisms to the girl he finally understands that he loves, and it melts their heart every time they read it.
