Henry and his mother really are quite alike in their stubbornness. The difference probably comes down to getting his temperament from his father as well as being more educated and having been exposed to different cultures. We've all seen how the ignorant act when it comes to things they don't understand like anti-vaxxers. They tend to be scared of the unknown like most people are and it takes a little more effort to convince them otherwise.

I'd like to think that his mother was coming from a good place and not just holding onto some past glory she herself never experienced. It will be a cathartic moment when she comes around to the idea of her son marrying a foreigner, maybe realizing that her daughter-in-law came to a place where she knows no one nor speak the language of the people there. Hopefully by the time this happens its not on her deathbed.

Man, Hawkins is the true Bro, and father is reasonable, he asked if he will be able to handle his living expenses, treated him with respect, agreed that he will probably be able to handle himself with the publishing money. He was probably planning to shadow-support him if needed, but was glad he had a reasonable plan.

Can confirm that despite the popular idea of the Victorian Era people all being extremely racists (they kinda were tho) they could be pretty tolerant my grandpa told me one of his grandparents being black and another one being from India and living in Portugal without much trouble.

Anyways shot out to the rest of the family for supporting him.

Thank you for the update! It seems that Mori-sensei health is getting better looking from the background of this chapter. I really, really glad our best boy Henry is not the typical Mama's boy and still stand next to Talas. You know that in a lot of patriarchal society, most of the men values themselves so highly and their own family, diminished the women family and herself. I like that Henry just don't take any of his mother "what ifs" like how Henry's mother bringing up her ancestor in the arguments cause she thinks that's their family worth and how he would've been an Earl. He wants Talas and that's the end of the arguments. PLEASE GOD GIVE ME ONE LIKE HIM 😭😭😭 tho i have to admit, i'm not comparable to Talas but one can say their wishes right 😭🙏🙏

Thank you for the update! It was a great start to my day. I’m glad to see Harry standing firm with Talas and that they have at least some people in their corner.

I can already picture Talas winning over the mother with her own handmade textiles, sheep will be sheared, i think it is important to keep in mind that in the end the mother acts like that out of love for her son, stubbornness and ignorance aside.
