I don't really have anything to say except, well, cool sword.
I get the feeling like Cholerio was supposed to be an arch-enemy/rival type character for Otr, similar to Hiruhiko for Chihiro (Kagurabachi) and Shigaraki for Midoriya (My Hero Academia). Cholerio's ideology is basically a parallel to Otr's, and he is drawn in Kawaguchi-sensei's "human" artstyle with a round head. Out of all the Horns, he's the only one who wields a spirit like Otr, and of course, it's the water spirit.
It's sad to see ideas that were clearly thought about get wasted. It's kind of hard not to feel like the events of this chapter should have happened around chapter 60 instead of chapter 30. Otr and Cholerio are talking about their beliefs while fighting, but I just couldn't care because everything that should have led up to this point was clearly skipped because of the looming axe. I still know nothing about Otr, Cholerio, the power system, or the world, even though Kawaguchi-sensei has clearly thought all of that out...
I have been feeling this for the last few chapters, which sucks. With the number of plot points that are happening too quickly to leave any impression, I genuinely don't think Otr could recover even if the series survives the axe for another batch, much less have a satisfying axe conclusion. That's coming from me, who really thinks Otr had potential to be great. I have to accept that Otr is probably getting axed at this point, but I hope it at least lands on its feet.
Sorry for being a downer. It's kind of hard not to, when I really like this series but know that it's likely going to be fumbled.
