Yeah, "incompatible" is a massive understatement. Good on the author for not making him a douchebag just to have an easy villain.

Yes, this chapter nails it. The ex made the right choice. There is no way in hell they would have been happy together.

In addition, he is actually a much bigger man than I thought. I am sure that he was the one sending the recommendation and his giving away the gold mine was as an apology for making her unable to marry until that surprise proposal. Hope he will get something really beneficial in return in the future.

Remember, his wife is the brains of that operation, she obfuscates stupidity. He's the friendly face, the 'cool dude' that wines and dines and lowers your guard by being too nice to hate, even if by pure chance. It's his wife that'll remind him 'go for this that and the other' and will probably do a lot of the business heavy lifting, and she's still got a witty personality that bounces off of his well. They both found much better matching partners.

The annoying part is that bubbles and everything flows nicely, so there must have been effort in making it sound proper. I really can't understand why no apostrophes.

Yeah, that's what I mean by no major eff-ups. Like, most of it is fine so how did they screw up with the punctuation this much? It's like in every chapter.
