Props to him, he sounds like a swell guy despite his earlier actions towards the lady.

It's certainly refreshing that the ex-fiancee didn't dump her because he couldn't appreciate her at her worth. If anything, he undervalues himself. He may call himself a fool (not without reason), but even as an adolescent he was clearheaded enough to see that their marriage would make both of them miserable
and he's insightful enough to realize his own flaws and appreciate how his wife's skills neutralize them.

I'm curious to see how this will continue, since the author doesn't seem to be using the milk-a-misunderstanding-for-all-it's-worth-and-then-keep-milking-it-some-more strategy.

Wow. Rare that the ex is like 'Y'know what? I was stupid but I know I was stupid and I'm happy anywho and I wish them happiness.' Dude knows himself. And honestly, considering the situation, it seemed likely he HAD to break it off a bit roughly simply because there would be people trying to stop it. So he acted kinda dickish for folks to accept the annulation otherwise.

Feelings are mutual to everyone's here in regards to the ex-fiance, but I kind of wished he could have talked to FMC about their standing at the time before he acted on his own, then the both of them could have worked out whether their marriage could stand and where to go from there in a more mature matter.

At least he's humble and reflective enough to know that he is, in fact, a 'fool'.

Probably not as much as the three female stooges of this story, though.

Right? He's the dumb in head but smart of heart kind of guy and I love him for it. Social intelligence is all that his head is good for but man is he good at it.

In a world without arranged marriages and a strong stigma towards breaking engagements he seems like he'd explain it better before breaking up... But eh, as clumsy as his method was there weren’t many better ones.

I love how they’re like those old heckling muppets but they direct their rudeness purely at themselves. And I was surprised that his wife was good-natured enough to not take "I chose you over her because I'm a fool" personally. They really are the perfect match.
