So wait, the clothes company or whatever just isn't delivering. This is a modern era thing, right? People have cell phones, social networks, like that? I'd be like, "I don't know why you think you're going to be better off not delivering than fulfilling the contract, but it's going to look really bad, you know? I feel bad for you. I'm sure that when it spreads like wildfire around all the other schools and all your other customers that you just refused to fulfill a major order at the last minute with no explanation, it's going to be really bad for your reputation. Facebook, Line and so on . . . nobody who is anybody will be able to justify the risk of buying from you. You could lose a lot of future orders." . . . "What, I and the other well-connected young ladies of this prestigious school conduct a campaign to blacken your name? Perish the thought. But these things spread. There's going to be a lot of outrage when it comes out who ruined our annual celebration." . . . "Of course I might prefer to be discreet about it, but then I would be blamed, would I not? If you have some special reason for not honouring your commitment to us, perhaps you might reflect on whether it is worth the continued existence of your business."
