I think she'll live. She's the defensive general so she'll be in the back, while the guy will likely have to pursue and well... We can guess how they'll do against Aegir's army.
I was going to say maybe the scale is wrong and the main river actually arrives to the sea first and that's just part of a delta. Looking at the map in ch. 103 I thought my theory was correct. But then I looked up river and thought: screw it! No point thinking too much about the map.
