About page 16, when he's thinking to himself if his father felt like this taking part in his kid's sports day... The mc's father wasn't there in his childhood, he only had his mother. Not completely sure if he was dead or just left his mother. By the way, his mother died as well from overworking when he was quite young.

This information comes from the overlord prologue side story that came with the overlord blu-ray 4 special(first part of the prologue) and overlord blu-ray 6 special(second part of the prologue). It's a story where we follow the 41(then 27) supreme beings when they decided to disband their old clan and make a new guild and their dungeon raid to get nazarick.

The explanation is in the middle of part 2 of the prologue when momonga confronts ulbert about his dislike and jealousy of touch me for having such a good life and being so perfect.

It goes like this:

Momonga suddenly recalled his own mother.

"...That's how it was, huh. That's what happened to your parents, Ulbert-san? My mother worked herself to death. When I woke up in the morning I saw her collapsed in the kitchen. Even lashed with fatigue, she pushed herself to make my favorite dish. If only she hadn't worried about it and just taken a rest instead... she might still be around now. When I found her, her body was already ice cold... At least, that's how I remember it. My memory's a bit hazy on that count."

Well, he only had a picture of a happy family cradling a baby to remember them by, but that in itself speaks volumes since he doesn't have anything with his older self. By the way, he also mentions how he has never received anything like fatherly love at all during his life somewhere in there(can't remember exactly where), so it's obvious that his father never went to any kid's sports days or was even present during his life, he has no relatives anymore after all. I'd assume that he was also quite young when his mother passed away given how he just passed elementary levels of education and never went higher than elementary school.

Well, it was just a mistranslation by the translator, I checked the raw, I can read japanese well enough to understand what it really says... The text goes: fufu... kodomo no undoukai ni sankasuru otousantte konna kimochi nandarouka(ふふ…子供の運動会に参加するお父さんってこんな気持ちなんだろうか…), which is more like "Haha, I wonder if this is how fathers feel while participating in their child's sport's day. ", there wasn't anything that would imply that he's talking about his own father, he's just talking about fathers in general. I don't know if the translator wanted to spice things up and make it more relatable or just translated it badly, but this was really a bad translation as liberally translating things made sure that the facts didn't check out. The original didn't have this error.

Why is this a big deal? Well, it really isn't. I'm just being nitpicky and I'm kind of bored. Thought you might want to know as well and I really like the overlord story so I don't appreciate when people makes others get the wrong impression due to botched "facts".

@Seregosa You know, I don't mind what you did, it was actually kinda cool since I learned more about Ainz's self, and hey, we got a kinda similar feeling towards Overlord, you don't like misconceptions and I don't like when people do fanfics that completely shatters the real and original image of Overlord, like inserting themselves as overpowered characters that get laid with every good-looking character present at the story, regardless of whatever, I feel like they're corrupting something that I really like, is this relevant to you? Hella no, but I felt like expressing myself like you did, have a nice day! Or night!
