This series' greatest weakness is that it's not porn. I'm all for these erotic scenes, but the story, especially early on, really resorts to doing pretty explicit sex stuff out in the open, then censoring it all in a very confusing (and unsatisfying) manner. Especially that pixel blur from the pool scene god knows how many chapters ago. I often find myself needing to double back to find out what exactly went on more often than I'd like.

EDIT: Just realized the story did it again. She was masturbating, and all we got was the tip of her hand, slightly sweaty, between her legs, and a shot of her lips in the next page. Meanwhile, I only notice on a second reading.

The only indication that anything was amiss was the tiny bit of sweat, and maybe the feet crossing. The latter could (And I did) be taken as her just getting comfortable in bed. The tiny beads of sweat on her hand were the only definitive indication that her grip had changed. Like all the other instances of this in the manga, it was happening right at the very edge of the panel (This time in it, thankfully), you easily miss it if you're not analyzing every last pixel, and the author, once again, would literally have been better off making porn.

We're basically on the same page. But I'm going to keep going, because I've been thinking about this for literal months, and you're the only guy I've been able to talk to about it. I'm sorry.

Sexual content is on a spectrum from Wholesome, to Porn, and every work falls somewhere in that spectrum. There's a special zone past "suggestive" where realistically, you should either dial it back, or make porn. Works can fall on either side of that line, and I know you've felt this before. Nukenai Seiken, for example, falls in the "dial it back" category, except for that one sequence in page 5, where suddenly we have literal, and metaphorical, grinding. (I've only read up to Vol. 2). Then there's this one...

And yeah, the line between "Dial it back" and "Make porn" seems to be "Are they doing sex stuff on screen?"
