Yeah, she's a bit on the weird side, as expected.
"Fighter" is about as accurate as "martial artist" from a semantic point of view, based on the short introduction given here. Neither actually means specifically someone who fights hand-to-hand, and both are very generic terms. The only difference is that the latter implies a certain level of martial education (including being self-taught), while the former is literally just someone who fights.
That's a weird trauma to have. Or rather, a weird expression of it. Still cute that she can look past that.
