Parasites can change their apparences easily. Last time he was Tamiya Kazuko, and now he's a politician.
This is a wrong translation, it shoud be "it" instead of the two "he", because Tamiya Kazuko and the guy going for mayor are two distinct parasites.
You can see them both, talking to each other, in the same room chapter 32.
You could also understand at chapter 27 page 35 that they are two different parasites, when two of them say in front of the politician "She's on maternity leave" refering to Tamiya (it's not made clear but anybody could infer that, since the only pregnant parasite we know is her).
And I think you should say "apparences" without an s too, but that's not as important to understand what's going on.
I know this chapter probably won't get adjusted, but at least people reading this won't misunderstand that the parasite teacher became the politician for real.
