Just can't escape the pacing problems with this manga, I guess. Right when it seemed like it was making the leads look badass (especially Narsena who is strong again and not a damsel-in-distress) by taking on many dumb adventurers with just the two of them, to solve his poor reputation problem once and for all by luring all the haters in one place suddenly we get the "heroic sacrifice" trope for some... misplaced sudden drama?

I can guess that they will beat the Hydra and this will start the reversal of his bad reputation. Although beating all the haters might have done something similar. Or better yet, beat them all and then have the Hydra attack them while they're down
