I forgot a good amount and skimmed 20+ chapters or so, but was Nightingale possessed by someone? Alexander mentions "the white one" who appears to be Nightingale?

Before joining the Forest‚ the "White Person" was one of the ancient returners and a friend to Alex (she gave up her original name‚ probably because she doesn't believe your talent should direct how you live‚ but some children called her Nightingale) who had an orphanage in which she studied returners and already had the "enslaving shadow" talent. She wanted to control what historical figure you would reincarnate into and she is the first person to think of the Great Humanity Plan. At some point (probably between chapters 67 and 68) she was killed and replaced with someone else (either possession or shapechanging) and that person introduced herself to the Forest as Nightingale (though considering her talents she might not even really be Nightingale's reincarnation‚ she might just have stolen the white person's talent) and eventually took control of it.
