Phantasy Star... now that's a name I haven't heard since the heydays of the Dreamcast and Phantasy Star Online. I'm mostly familiar with the Genesis games. IV was their magnum opus and... yeah, that's kind of it. I guess since Sega publishes Persona, Yakuza, and everything, they've just let it lie dormant, like the Shining series. Although even the Shining series at least had a bunch of games during their Tony Taka phase.

I thought this manga was pretty nice, all things considered. It probably wasn't going to end up a masterpiece, but the pacing was good, the characters solid with room to grow, and some decent potential for an adventure overall. Ah well. I don't think I've ever seen an author breaking the fourth wall for cancellation though! I like all the reader drawings, especially the impactful Sonic one.
All in all, I'm left feeling a little bit wistful for bygone times. It was so very long ago...
