To be fair, he was only avoiding her because he rejected her (not a mean one btw, bro was respectful on it).
Now his girl is in danger and he's desperate, he go for her because she is his only choice left.

I know this is a gag manga, but "his family is wealthy" seems like a weak explanation for the police in Japan to not do anything at the mention of his name when a girl was literally abducted in the streets.
