To be fair, PvP is a 2 way street. Not sure why they didn't expect a retaliation.

Even if MC wasn't there/exist & watevr seem like a P2W who would definitely roll for unit & fight back. Even if Watevr didn't retaliate right away, they would probably post what happen on the forum (like all the other times), got laughed at, and then goad to do something.

Because this isnt regular PvP where you fight an opponent on equal ground like CS, DOTA, SC2, etc. This is more of an invasion style PvP where with uneven odds. This other master is a coward who preys on newbies cuz they can't hack it in a real fight

Yes, it's not an even pvp. Bunch of mobile game with army/base building have this mechanism. It's not new. They always have a "retaliation" button. The only thing "new" here is that the MC is conscious & can initiate not only a counter defense, but re-invade. Most mobile game would split it into 2 phase, defense (passive offline most of the time) & after the battle clear up, the option to retaliate after building up troops.
