At this point, the statues are nothing but collectible achievements for bragging rights. So, instead of being stuck at getting a useless gift, he lean hard on it and aim for the arbitrary 1000 statues.

It's like getting 100% achievements on Slay the Spire or something. Or in another words, he's a true gaymer.
