Don't expect any ntr, or any major events really, in the first 2 volumes (10 chapters). But the angst is just dripping from every panel. It's a bit like "Even Though We're Adults", but with a "childhood friend" tag and an even slower pace.

Vol. 3 is scheduled for early summer.

I hope the husband's not like cartoonishly evil or something. Feel like the story could be way more interesting if he's not too much of a terrible person.

I'm guessing he's probably gonna be at least controlling since she seemed to retreat into her shell when he showed up and from his description of her that's the only side he's seen of her.

Why do people always assume that a character putting up a persona around their spouse means the spouse is evil instead of the one acting refusing to communicate and putting up walls?

We already know that she took advantage of him to get out of what is hinted to be an unpleasant family situation, she is the one taking red marks against her here.
