He seems correct, there is no way it would be this forceful without telling him anything unless it was trying to use him. After he bad mouthed all the other helpers, I had thought he might have actually gotten a good one to throw him off, but being this forceful while being good should involve some kind of forewarning of why he needs its power to survive; just straight up forcing it for no reason clearly looks evil.
