That's a cute gesture. Reminds me of a zen koan. Heavily paraphrasing:
The zen master has his disciples gathered around his death bed. He asks them to show what they have learned so he may appoint his successor. His favorite disciple steps forward and nudges the master's medicine within his reach. "Really, your master is dying and that is all you have learned? Have I wasted my life on idiots?" The favorite disciple steps forward again, and wordlessly pushes the medicine just out of reach. "Oh, you have learned well."
