So he has the ability to freely distribute the exp, but he didn't even give SOME of it to himself? Talk about naivety

Yeah like I feel like this breaks suspension of disbelief right at the get-go on several levels:
  • It's designed to be a slap-in-the-face as per genre, but in the process it goes to such an extreme that it needs more justification than it gives. There are people who might just roll with this kind of abuse for one reason or another, but at this point it needs to show why he does.
  • How'd we even get to the point where they know how his power works while keeping him at level 1? How'd nothing in his life, in the guild or outside it, ever lead to him getting levels?
  • You'd want him to have some levels just so he doesn't croak from random splash damage, so them not letting him have EXP doesn't make sense even if he's inclined to be completely subservient.
  • He'd be having people threatening to poach him right and left. In a competitive guild environment, firing him makes zero sense when they're not even really paying him anything anyway in the first place. He's someone you'd keep on board just to keep him out of the hands of your competitors.
  • His power is designed to allow him to speed-level for plot reasons, but the consequence is they'd already have to know it's magnificent for power-leveling any one rando you decide to bring on. And who wouldn't level him, depressingly loyal as he is, just to see whether he's good at high levels?
I could swallow some of these as just really stupid people who don't know what they're doing but it's just too much all at once. Honestly, suspension of disbelief would go way further if he were like, level 40 to their level ~1000. That'd be the sort of point where you could kind of imagine the discussions and events leading up to it.

Be careful his name is fildo which I’m assuming is a combo of the words fill and dildo he might just snap and fill up that mage of yours and honestly as much a meme comment this is that would be one heck of a plot twist if he just went full redo of healer out of left field I mean I’m brain rotted so I would love that because like a bored god as long as it’s entertaining and not Ntr (netori gets a pass) I’m down for pretty much anything that’s entertaining and has consistent worldbuilding

Either point-gifting is well-known in this setting, or it isn't.

If it is well-known, then having one of them in a party doubles everybody's xp. It stands to reason that they would be valuable, and you'd want multiple point-gifters if at all possible. A guild without at least one would be seen as pathetic novices the same way one without a healer.

On the other hand, if point-gifting isn't well known, then it makes sense for the party to want to power-level him up quickly, just to see if he can amplify xp even further at high levels. Plus, that guarantees that their valuable asset doesn't get squished in combat, even if he's not going to be doing any fighting.
