they were wondering if it was because of guts, Bruno's Machamp in 3rd gen he has Guts, in 4th gen gets changed to No Guard, which would make sense as he also pulled dynamic punch against Muk.

So Bruno’s backstory is that he faced Agatha in a past League and lost, so he trained for the rematch but ultimately lost to Lance in the previous league so he couldn’t face Agatha (hence we know the previous League ended on an Agatha vs Lance finals).

I figure we’ll get Agatha vs Bruno in the current round in the main story (maybe there’ll be some “passing the torch” moment since we know Bruno will stay in the League in gen 2 but not Agatha)
