I don't think most of the bandits are bad people especially considering the guy who betrayed them and planned to sell Hanano to the lord talked about how the lord had gotten some real bandits on his side.

No clue. It's tough to follow. I think the guy abusing the kid turned on his group to sell them out to the local lord, so if that's the case then the bandits are just good people looking to report the local lord to his higher ups and are the good guys here. If not, then they're the baddies.

The "bandits" are people who wish to oppose the lord. The lord placed the "bandit" name on them in order to use military against them.

The "professional bandits" that Francette sliced up beautifully were real bandits also hired by the lord.

Our mc here is afraid that Francette would join the lord's military and kill the "bandit" party, which Lotte is in right now.
