Okay, refining the hypotheses a little.

I think I get now what Min-ho and Minji can do that others can't. In chapter 19, we saw that the circle of fire that signals the transition from the future world to the present one was harmless when Yun-yeong was the one generating it. The reason the monster was cut across the fingers and midbody back then was not because of the fire ring, but because the sliced parts were at the edge of the hole that only existed in the present world. But in this chapter we saw the fire ring sever the fingers of the monster that were caught in it when it was expanding, and then they were not at the edge of any feature that only existed in one of the worlds.

The monster itself remarked that it is an unbelievable trait that makes the siblings a preferential prey. Yeah, both siblings. Now I understand this was the thing that cut the bettle monster in halves back in chapter 14. And why Jeongtae told Min-ho he could save people if they teamed up. And my guess is that it has to do with the fact that their mother was a shaman.

But the ending of the chapter suggests that there's a dangerous side to their ability, too, because the monster says it's their fault there are so many hunters in that area. We'll have to see how that is explained later.

I gotta say, this series is a masterpiece of build-up so far. The author has serious guts to reveal secrets this slowly and indirectly. Soooo much better than those stupid "system" or apocalypse series that do a massive info-drop in the first five chapters and expect us to care. Mad respect.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is accurate. In chapter 19, it wasn't about being at the edge of the hole specifically. It was that the fire ring passed through the monster at a location that has something existing there only in one world. If you were standing with your arm out and a wall was suddenly forced into existence where your arm is, you're losing the arm. Although technically, it's you being forced to where a wall was.

Anyway, the same thing happens here. The monster was in a location that had nothing in that space on its side, hence its ability to pass through the floor of the elevator. And then she makes eye contact with it, connecting the monster with our world, which happened to have an elevator in the way.

The fire ring isn't anything special. It just shows where the border is, which is where the the interaction between the worlds happens. Or it is the border. But it's not cutting them, getting solid matter transposed with your body is.

Okay, that makes sense, I guess I was stretching it. But then, how did Min-ho cut the beetle hunter into two? (Though now I think of it, I guess if my explanation were correct, we wouldn't have seen both halves of it. There would be one in our world, and one in the future one, or something.)

No clue about him. My current theory is it's some kind of psychic energy lashing out in response to pain. But that's based on literally nothing, so. But it could still be connected to the border thing somehow, I just don't think we have enough information to know how.
