Question about how to number volumes for a rerelease edition

In a situation where
  • A manga series already has existing uploads based on the original volume release (7 volumes)
  • I am considering uploading a new scanlation for it based on a recompiled new edition that has all of the chapters but in a different order and in a different number of volumes (3 volumes), plus its own exclusive extras
how should the uploads be handled in terms of marking it as "volume X chapter Y"? Would it be something like "Volume R1" or would I just go along with the old volume-chapter numbering even though that would throw off the order? Or would I use the rerelease's volume/chapter numbering? (I feel like that last one would make it really confusing for anyone using the reader to go through the whole thing, since the system will make them go through redundant chapters.)

Two things.
1. Is the reason you're changing the numbering scheme because it re-released under a new set of 3 volumes with more extras? or is it just digital ver vs paper ver? and do covers for the original 7 volumes all have covers and/or is there 3 covers for the 3 volumes?
2. Do the chapter numbers follow each other and/or are the same in both release?

In case it's sort of a re-release, 1 there are covers for the 7 volumes and/or the chapters don't follow each other in both version, I'd advise you to create a new page for it as an "alternative version" (you can probably add (paperback) in the name to indicate it's different) for it (see the "relations" tab in the title draft menu).

if
2 the chapters follow each other normally in both version, you should just adjust the chapter numbering of the volumes to the most "official" release. (if there are the 7 covers for the volumes I'm not sure what you'd do with them, I can ask for you to the staff directly if it is)
