why would a married couple agree to go on a show where they know that one of them will have to pay a heavy price? the husband said he watched the show before so he'd know about it.
doesn't seem like a very good premise for a manga so far. I'm surprised it continued for 10 volumes.

This is answered in the chapter. As soon as the "prices" have been stated he has a look of shock and mentions that the "price" has never been that bad before.

Later he says "I have never had such a heavy price to pay before" so either he has played this game before or it's a typo/translation error and he's talking about when he has watched the show.
