I just want to point out the irony of the whole oneshot being about appearances, while the "average" MC is a super cute anime girl and the "glowup" to the already hot fuckboy shinigami is taking off his glasses, combing his hair a bit, and straightening his back. What is he, Clark Kent and Superman?

This only the artist. Horimiya author was HERO. He is drawing his own series now, about a guy and a ghost girl.
Nevertheless, this artist is very good at his craft. Simple premise for a story but well executed. Beautiful art and character designs. Hope to see more from this person.

to be fair the "ugly girl" in anime and manga never actually looks bad, cuz that ain't marketable.
Though, while the Shinigami already looks good in the "punk bad boy/emo boy" kinda way, the "prince" version definitely carries a different sense of beauty.
