There was a fun bit in the novel, the garden was so huge their staff kept getting lost so they all have signal flares with them and there's an employee whose only job is to rescue lost people in a carriage.

It's a bit silly isn't it, if their wealth is as large as presented they'd have so much financial pressure and influence over the crown they'd get the breakup done in one day, king himself would stamp the paper. But i guess doing it that way wouldn't make for a silly romance story, so we suspend the disbelief a little bit.
